Not correct: Commons uses no title cases, chateau is a generic term (no capuilat), not a proper name and in France, title case is almost non existent. --Foroa (talk) 08:03, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is Category:Sculptures of the sheltered-gallery of the château de Pierrefonds the right category name? --Diwas (talk) 00:29, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I moved this to fix the misspelling. BTW if château isn't capitalized, shouldn't it be "of the château of Pierrefonds". If it is capitalized, wouldn't it be "of Château de Pierrefonds" ? -- User:Docu at 14:05, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In French, and basically in English too, in proper names, only the proper words are written with initial capital, not the generic terms (château, rue, park, river, valley). Source of the confusion is that in English, people tend to use more an dmore capital cases for all terms of the proper name and very few English texts are consistent with capitalisation. So normally, it should be the Amazone valley (but Silicon Valley). Of course, mixing French proper names with English category names produces some integration problems. --Foroa (talk) 14:21, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's for sure. Hotcat doesn't make it easy either to work around varying capitalizations, prepositions and articles .. BTW Category:Norman Gate, Windsor Castle doesn't quite seem to fit the reasoning you outlined. In any case, we should either rename this category or all other subcategories of "Category:Château de Pierrefonds". -- User:Docu at 15:10, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In the absence of additional input and for consistency with the parent category, I moved this to the suggested name. -- User:Docu at 04:18, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
