I´ll stop this request with this. Thanks to all, who voted, perhaps I am trying it again in a few month. __ ABF __ 11:57, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

I would like to apply for sysop for commons. I am active in de.wikipedia since Oktober 2006 and in commons since January 2007. In this time i made about 500 Edits on Commons and more than 2000 in de.wikipedia. I am mostly doing the controlling of new Images mostly and i often help other users. Nearly every day I am in the IRC under the Nick "Viele-baeren". If you want to know something about me, feel free to ask! __ ABF __ 13:44, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose – ABF is active controlling newpages, recent changes and so on here and on de.wikipedia.org, that’s true. Unfortunately I never noticed any activity regarding licensing and connected topics and thus I have to assume, that supporting this request is buying a pig in a poke. He also tries to involve himself in a lot of meta topics (on de.wp) without sufficient knowledge about the fundamentals of the projects, at least it seems to me that way. His actions often remind me of „playing Wikipedia“, I know, that’s a hard judgement, but it’s just honest. --Polarlys 14:02, 10 June 2007 (UTC) Addition: Nobody needs extended rights to mark files without license or source, when he has not proved in a single request for deletion that he has read Commons:Licensing or its equivalent on de.wp.
I do not agree totaly to you. I was perhaps a bit bad in my first time in de.wp and i have talked in many meta-diskussions, what was not so good, but now I have got a good artikle in de.wp and many small artikels. Your meaning, that I do mot need the rights for putting down Templates is correct as well but I have to disturb every day more then 5 Commonsadmins in the IRC and I want to do those things on my own. I promis, I´ll never missuse my rights. And at last: I would never "play Wikipedia". It is a serious project im my eys. regards, __ ABF __ 15:49, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
If „a bit bad“ means „blocked sometimes for my actions“, it’s a sweet euphemism. I do a lot of work connected with images here and as well as on de.wikipedia.org, but I never saw you doing something else than nominating images for awards. What do you know about licensing? Please accept my opinion, I also accept the people you mobilize on IRC to vote for you. --Polarlys 16:04, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
All my blocks in de.wp where unblocked. And that i have never worked on images in de.wp is totaly wrong. Try this with Wikipedia:Bilderwerkstatt and Wikipeedia:Kandidaten für Exzellente Bilder. At last: I accept vour vote anyway. __ ABF __ 16:11, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
I mentioned this engagement, but it has nothing to do with copyright. You were blocked three times twice because of „WP:BNS“ and because of an edit-war, that’s a fact. --Polarlys 16:12, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Anyway law is my Hobby and I am going to study it next year. Copyright is not my best part, law of economy is better to me, but I knew also not less about Copyright. __ ABF __ 16:16, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Unfortunately we don’t know about. --Polarlys 16:22, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
And there where only 2 BNS Blocks and they where unblocked. __ ABF __ 16:17, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Surely you were unblocked, after pulling the whole IRC’s attention on your person and promising not to it again … --Polarlys 16:22, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Hey! Be fair! You are never in the IRC and so from where do you want to knew? Stop telling such things, you do not knew about, please. __ ABF __ 16:25, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Admins usually talk about things like that. --Polarlys 16:39, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Symbol support vote.svg Support My impression is that he is willing to give a helping hand. I can see in contributions he has marked some images and helped out some new users. If he is willing to take his part of the deletions I see no reason to refuse. --|EPO| 14:44, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose needs more time to understand what's really going on here. Ack polarlys - experience from de.wp is mostly the reason to decide like this. --Manuel Schneider(bla) (+/-) 16:33, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose -- Too early. I have not looked into the dewiki issue. However, I browsed through your contribution list, and saw that you have only started image tagging yesterday. I think you do not yet have the experience to be an admin on Commons. Hoping not to discourage you from contributing to Commons; please try again in a month or so. -- Bryan (talk to me) 17:00, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose – ABF seems not to know much about free licensing, nor about the basics of Commons. He uploaded e.g. one image only 8 days ago where he did not gave correct information on authorship, and where he combined two incompatible licenses, see [1]. In addition I know him from de.wp as a somehow committed rc patroller, but tagging images with nld or nsd is not something that needs sysop rights at all. --:Bdk: 18:50, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose Commons is not Wikipedia, but behaviour mentioned by polarys, not knowing about copyright and such is strongly frowned upon. As everyone else said, you need more time here. Tagging copyvios does not require admin powers. (zelzany - framed) 19:03, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose Many of his own files are uncategorized, and replacing file descriptions which are not english instead of adding a new one with the language tags is no good work. --GeorgHH 20:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose As I dont know, if I am allowed to vote in sysop-elections on Commons (and I am absolutely not willing to read the rules now) just a comment. ABF is a very nice and friendly guy and personally I like him. And maybe he will be a good sysop someday but I dont think he would be yet. He needs to learn way more about licening of media files. (And way more he needs to get "cooler" to be a good sysop. Being a good sysop is not only a question of knowing the rules, it is also a question of knowing how to handle difficult, unexpeced and really strange situations.) However, he is on the right way... Best regards and sorry ABF, Dr. Shaggeman 18:33, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
  • I only can fully agree to this statement. He will sure be a good sysop in a time, but it's still too early, cf. also the link provided by Bdk above. (I'm also probably not allowed to vote here.) Sorry ABF, but I have to oppose. --Thogo (Disk.) 20:56, 10 June 2007 (UTC) Same as above, if I'm allowed to vote here, please take me as Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose.
  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose mainly per Bryan and Bdk. After two busy days of tagging images, I think it is a little early to become an admin. Maybe a little later. --Matt314 02:54, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose He needs more experience on Commons first and more knowledge about licencing. --Raymond Disc. 07:52, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
