Commons:CRT index help

The sections in the translatable navigation box to the right contain lists of countries in each region. The navigation box may be included in translated pages, in which case the entry names will be given in the page language, and will try to link to target pages in the same page language.

The sequence of entries in each list should be in the natural sequence for the chosen language. A template is provided for each region to help you put the entries in the correct sequence for your language. The templates are:

• {{CRT format Oceania index}} {{CRT format Other index}}

Instructions:

• Edit Commons:Sandbox
• Paste the text {{CRT format region index|lang=xy}},
  e.g. {{CRT format Africa index|lang=fr}}
• Click the Show preview button at the foot of the page
• You will see a table like:

Sort by country	Index entry

• Click on the "Sort by country" header to sort the table into the right sequence
• Copy the table contents (but not the table header) select text, CTRL+C
• Paste into the translation box position cursor, CTRL+V
• The translation box should look something like:

• Make any necessary changes to sequence. The sort does not handle accented characters well. Often the entries at the end of the list should be moved up to their correct position.
