  • Pictogram voting comment.svg Comment - Could you add a camera location please. Nice photo but it is difficult to choose one image in this category. Here (1, 2) other two good competitors. --MrPanyGoff 23:44, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
I added the camera location. It is taken from the shore, while those two images from the boat. - Darwinek (talk) 09:07, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose Sorry! A very good quality image. But many images in the category give a closeup view of the actual Horseman. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 04:07, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
: Pictogram voting comment.svg Comment Understood. However, many of the images showing closeup details do not include the entire sculpture and base. My nomination may not be the best but could you please pick a specific example that better exemplifies a VI. Thank you. Godot13 (talk) 12:24, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

File:Bronze Horseman002.jpg or File:Der Eherne Reiter.jpg are better as VI in my opinion. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 03:32, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
If you are proposing these then please open a MVR - Godot13 (talk) 19:47, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
I don't have to. If you want, i can take back my opposition. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 04:08, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure how to respond to that. If you truly feel that the images you suggested are more valuable image representations of The Bronze Horseman then I do not want you to change your vote. I think, aside from its better image quality, the present image at full size provides more details than the others, but I may be somewhat biased... Godot13 (talk) 05:23, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Well.... moved it to MVR now. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 09:01, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
  • Symbol support vote.svg Support Find the complete monument and its surrounding situation more important than fine details of the object. Pictogram-voting-question.svg Question Is the given position really the camera point of view? --Ikar.us (talk) 02:06, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
The camera did not have GPS ability so I provided the position of the object itself. Should I estimate my position for the location? - Godot13 (talk) 02:46, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
In that case you would use {{Object location}} to indicate the position of the object. cmadler (talk) 13:28, 28 January 2013 (UTC) ✓ Done Object inserted for Camera location. - Godot13 (talk) 18:51, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
I'd nevertheless prefer the camera position and heading. Easy to locate, gives more information and better presentation in the map (if it works...) --Ikar.us (talk) 00:00, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
✓ Done Exact camera position entered. Angle was SW, but that doesn't show up. -Godot13 (talk) 05:23, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Finally it does. (in the map) --Ikar.us (talk) 23:44, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Pictogram voting comment.svg Comment This might be a good situation for a set of images. Or, alternatively, we might seek separate Valued Images for the statue alone, the rock ("Thunder Stone", purportedly the most massive rock ever moved) and the monument as a whole. cmadler (talk) 14:00, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Scope:
The Bronze Horseman (Saint Petersburg)
Reason:
Closeup of the actual sculpture that gives better view when used in the thumbnail sizes on various Wikipedia. Inscriptions clearly readable. Also used extensively on various Wikis for illustration of the scope subject as well as other concerned subjects. -- §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C}
  • Pictogram voting comment.svg Comment VI guidelines define review size as relevant for judging. If really needed, one could try a set nomination with both overview and detail. Still don't find it necessary. Inscription is larger here, but due to oblique view and undulated surface, not better readable than in the front view. --Ikar.us (talk) 10:46, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
