Frequently viewed photographs[edit]
Images from the Afrika-Studiecentrum Leiden are used on various pages of Wikimedia websites. Statistics how often these pages were consulted, show that in September 2019 the threshold of two million views a month was crossed, for the first time since the start of this image library in 2014. Especially on the English language Wikipedia (and to a lesser extent on the French language Wikipedia) images originating from the ASC were frequently viewed. A top five of those photographs with the article that carries them, the number of page views and the ASC collection in which they reside:

On an extensive field trip mainly through North Africa a group of Dutch university students visited local students and their new universities and toured many countries. A pictorial donation by three group members, the later medical professor L.A. van Es, the engineer Mr. M.U.U. van Dis and Mr. Crebolder. Work in progress.

Dutch historian Aart Rietveld taught at Toro Teachers College in Toro, North Nigeria, and travelled widely in Africa.

In 2016 medical professor Roel Coutinho (on Dutch wikipedia) MD donated 752 photographs and slides made by him in the course of his medical work in Guinea-Bissau and Senegal in 1973 and 1974, during the final year of the war of independence waged by the PAIGC (Partido Africano da Independência da Guiné e Cabo Verde) resistance movement against Portugal.

Social anthropologist Angeline van Achterberg travelled widely in Northwest Africa for her work, for instance with women's organisations, and authored various books.

Gerard van de Bruinhorst, an arabist and Afrikanist at the Afrika-Studiecentrum Leiden, documented his visit to the Hargeysa 12th International Book Fair, 20-25 July 2019, in Somaliland.
