  • Pictogram-voting-question.svg Question per COM:Rollback, it's "for users who need the tool"... looking over your last thousand or so edits, I can see a few uses of the "undo" function, but could you clarify why you think you need it? Note that I'm not necessarily opposing that you get the rights, I just don't really see the need (most of the time) on Commons. In fact, I operate with rollback artificially turned off most of the time. Storkk (talk) 13:39, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
    • Thanks for your question. Actually I want to fight against vandalism. I am following the project of tropical cyclone, which sometimes is the target of vandalism. Having the rollback rights can let me rollback the vandalism edit quickly. --B dash (talk) 02:18, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

  • Symbol oppose vote.svg Oppose The user has a long history of incompetence, failures to understand various concepts surrounding what constitutes vandalism etc, has been quite disruptive and unhelpful on English Wikipedia, where they've just come off a lengthy block. I'd expect trouble free editing before granting them rollback. Nick (talk) 14:30, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
@Nick: I am trouble free on Wikimedia Commons even though I haven't been on English Wikipedia and I understand Wikimedia Commons' policies as they are easier to understand and I haven't broke any of them ever. Pkbwcgs (talk) 14:44, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

I was told by Guanaco to come here to see if I am eligible for file mover rights. I've made numerous file rename requests (and more to go) and I have read policy on it. Thank you. Artix Kreiger (talk) 03:15, 30 September 2017 (UTC)
While I have no prejudice against your request here, I like to point out that you approached Guanaco to grant you the right but they declined on the basis of the recent warnings on your talk page about incorrect license tags. Guanaco never told you to come here. They said " If you make a request at Commons:Requests for rights#Filemover and there are no serious objections, I'll approve it.". Good luck. I am an experienced user and I think it makes more sense to execute my numerous file rename requests by myself. See the meaningless file names in Category:From the Congo to the Niger and the Nile, or Category:Our greater country; being a standard history of the United States from the discovery of the American continent to the present time (1901), or Category:Annual report of the American Museum of Natural History for the year (1907), or Category:Wreck and sinking of the Titanic (book) or or or.... Hi, I need to rename a few of files uploaded by Commons:BEIC. It would be much more convenient if I could do that myself. Thank you--Valeria De Francesca (BEIC) (talk) 08:51, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

@Valeria De Francesca (BEIC): Generally we require many more edits before assigning this right. Do you have experience under a personal account? Guanaco (talk) 04:42, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Occasionally I need/want to rename photos, e.g. of coins and medals, where the filename is misleading or plainly wrong. Being a filemover myself would save others the hassle, and also I could be of help now and then. Thanks, HReuter (talk) 18:57, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Thanks! Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 18:48, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

Have been contributing to this project for long now. In the context of GLAM initiatives I sometimes end up needing to rename files I have uploaded, when by mistake I find out we have kept an ambiguous name. This would make this renaming faster. I have read and understand rules on Commons:File renaming.
✓ Done - seasoned user, knows the rules. Some recent file moves were denied, but they should have been granted, as they complied with the rules. In this case, for instance, it complied with at least 3 points of the file renaming guidelines - 1, 3 & 4 - but was still denied for apparently no reason. While 1) is not obvious (Eder is from the same Wikimedia group and is working in the same projects as Joalpe), 3 & 4 should have been obvious enough. This way some users from that group, which I confirmed have read the file renaming guidelines, can easily manage their own uploads, not depending on the rename requests. I've also granted this right to Lucas.Belo, from the same group, as it was requested offline, and he's in the same situation.-- Darwin Ahoy! 12:03, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
