Commons:Upload Wizard feedback/Archive/2014/03
I have completed detailed descriptions for a bunch of photos, and when I go to publish them, the page basically stops working. The circles keep spinning, but it goes nowhere after tens of minutes. I have to restart ENTIRELY, which is terrible... this is defective. Theskuj (talk) 02:47, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
- I've been having this same problem. The initial image upload is a little slow, but works fine even for several images. I then release the rights just fine, and add descriptions, etc, but at the following "Submitting details and publishing" stage, it always seems to hang, usually on the first three photos. I can leave it working for an hour, and the progress wheels just keep spinning but never complete. Occasionally one will succeed (I'll get the green check mark) and another progress wheel will start. The strange thing is that any image that gets to the progress wheel stage *does* actually get uploaded. If I close the page (abandoning the upload), the images are still available on commons. But since it usually gets stuck on the first three, if I try to upload more than three images at a time, those beyond the first three are lost and I need to restart. Any thoughts on this (besides uploading three images at a time) from anyone? Thanks - Illustratedjc (talk) 09:30, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
How do I upload a new copy of a 350MB webm video file?
I have downloaded
and run it through ffmpeg to remove the interlacing artefacts of the digitizing process. I now have a 350MB video file I would like to upload as a new version of the same file (to preserve the links from other wikis).
I've never used the Upload Wizard before so I don't know if it's possible to upload a new copy through that and the upload new copy form on the original video page says 100MB max.
How do I go about getting this file up as a new copy?
- ChunkedUpload.js should work for you (up to a 500MB size). --Pristurus (talk) 23:20, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
- This all depends on how big your file is and what speed your Internet is. If you're using the standard upload form then you are still uploading if your browser is showing the 'working' animation for the page. You can just leave it and wait. If it fails your browser will tell you. Skrrp (talk) 18:52, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

It would be interesting that the item was added city where the photo was taken. This would avoid the difficulty of geographically locate certain pictures. This item should be mandatory. This would eliminate the categories unidentified locations. Paulo RS Menezes (talk) 23:21, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
