Wiki Loves Bangla
an annual international photography competition organized by Bangla WikiMoitree
Wiki Loves Bangla (WLBangla), also known as Banglar Preme Wiki, is an international photography contest dedicated to showcasing the richness and diversity of Bengali culture and heritage. Organized by Bangla WikiMoitree, this initiative is a key part of the Bangla Culture and Heritage Collation Program, aiming to document and preserve the vibrant culture, heritage, traditions, festivals, architecture, and everyday life of Bengali communities worldwide.
Every year, Wiki Loves Bangla is held with a unique theme that encourages photographers—both amateur and professional—to capture and share the beauty of Bangla culture through their lenses. Participants from all over the world contribute by uploading their photos to Wikimedia Commons under free licenses, which can be used on Wikipedia and other platforms with attribution. The goal is to make the Bangla culture and heritage flourish worldwide. It will be held annually in March and is organised by Wikimedia communities.
Partnerships and collaborations
Wiki Loves Bangla thrives through the spirit of collaboration. We welcome partnerships with Wikimedia affiliates, cultural institutions, photography groups, academic bodies, and heritage initiatives that share our vision of celebrating and preserving Bangla culture through free knowledge and open access. Whether you represent a Wikimedia chapter or user group, a museum, a photography club, a university, or a cultural organisation, your collaboration is valued and welcome.
Organisations and groups aligned with this mission are welcome to make a partnership with us to help strengthen this initiative. Together, we can help make Bangla culture more visible and accessible to the world.
