Out of the millions of subjects you can read about on Wikipedia, those that relate to Africa have the least coverage. This is due to a number of reasons, but some are linked to the fact that many people do not know that they can have the knowledge of their continent and cultures reflected on Wikipedia by donating their images, videos and audio to Wikimedia. The richness, diversity and beauty of Africa deserves to be visually celebrated on Wikipedia.
YOU can help to do this. It's super simple and everyone is welcome to participate!
What should YOU contribute? Pictures! Audio! Videos!
The theme Farm to Plate calls for the submission of media (photos, audio, video) that portrays fields, agricultural practices, farm products, farm machines, people farming, food transformation and processing, cooking, restaurants, dressing on plates, cooking material and the entire process (or a segment of it) that in consists of transforming farm produce into food.

- Take photos related to the theme Farm to Plate
- Create a free account or log in on Wikimedia Commons.
- Consult our How to Enter page for useful advice on everything relating to the competition.
- Make sure you follow the rules of the competition (otherwise your entries might not be eligible to win!)
- Upload your photos – from the 1st March 2025 onwards!
Important
Only enter images or media that visually capture the theme as it applies to "Africa".
To be considered, entries must be submitted under a free license (read about licenses here).

There are several prizes up for grabs for quality entries: both at a national and international level. For national prizes, see what local organisers have planned in your country.

Selecting the Winners
The winners will not be selected until July 2025. They will be announced in August 2025 at Wikimania.
