Commons:Wiki Loves Earth 2025 in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani Wikipedians announce their participation in this interest photo contest, Wiki Loves Earth. Users are invited to take pictures of natural heritage sites, then, during the month of May and June, upload their best shots in Wikimedia Commons.
You have pictures of natural sites stalled in your computer since your last trip? This is a great opportunity to give them a second life in this Wiki Loves Earth contest. In addition to being seen by everyone, your pictures could be included in Wikipedia and contribute to the preservation of Azerbaijan's natural heritage. Freely licensed photos collected through Wiki Loves Earth may also be reused elsewhere than in Wikipedia. Photos may have been taken at any time. The key criteria to be eligible guy for the contest are that they are to be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons in May and June 2025... and that they have been taken by you, of course!
There is no minimum age to participate, and there is no participation fee. Besides WLE being a competition, it is first a fun activity, ideal for families. The competition also allows us to inform our natural heritage, while improving our photographic talents!
The contest was initiated and first held (as pilot) by Wikimedia Ukraine in 2013. It was ranked as the 2nd coolest project of Wikimedia Chapters at Wikimania 2013. Azerbaijan holds a contest without a break since 2014.

 Wiki Loves Earth is an international photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites around the World through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons). Everybody can participate. There are a lot of natural heritage sited in all participating countries. The goal of Wiki Loves Earth is to encourage people to take pictures of those natural sites, and to put them under a free licence so that others may access them through the Internet. To achieve that, an international contest will take place in May and June 2025. This page introduces the Azerbaijani part of this competition. In May and June, you may upload as many picture as you want of identified natural monuments / natural parks / protected areas that you have visited. Pictures don't have to be taken in May and June, but must be uploaded that month to be considered. Provide your photo with {{Wiki Loves Earth 2025|az}} template. At the end of the month, the contest jury will begin evaluating the photographs and will choose the best 10 pictures of the natural site in Azerbaijan, and ultimately in the world. How to participate
