This open photography contest on Wikimedia Commons is part of the international Wiki Loves Earth initiative and aims to expand the collection of high-quality images of natural heritage sites in Albania and Kosovo. It invites participants to document scenic landscapes, protected areas, and their biodiversity for use on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation project sites.
A jury of three will select the winning photographs based on criteria such as creativity, image processing, and overall technical quality—including sharpness, lighting, perspective, and composition. The winning images will represent two categories: landscapes (including individual trees if they are natural monuments) and macro/micro photography (e.g., animals, plants). The top three entries will be awarded with the prizes of 300€, 200€, and 150€ respectively.
This is the 13th year of the Wiki Loves Earth competition, and in addition to the standard categories, there is a special international nomination on the theme of "Human rights and environment." Details can be found here.

The contest for Albania and Kosovo will run from June 1 to 30, 2025.
Wikimedians of Albanian Language User Group is a community dedicated to enhancing Albanian-language content across various Wikimedia projects.
Rules
To participate in the competition, please adhere to the following rules:
Rule 1: You must have a Wiki account. A Wikipedia or Wikimedia account is required. If you don't have one, please create an account here. Ensure your email address is verified.
Rule 2: All photographs must be your original work. Submissions of photographs not created by you, even with permission from the original creator, will not be accepted.
Rule 3: Photographs must depict an identified natural monument, protected area, or natural park. Images of flora, fauna, or other natural subjects are also eligible, provided they are properly identified, geolocated, and described in detail. Refer to the official lists of protected areas in Albania and Kosovo for valid locations.
Rule 4: All photographs must be uploaded between 1–30 June 2025. Any submissions made after this period will be disqualified from the competition. It does not matter when they were made.
Rule 5: All photographs must be submitted under the category Wiki Loves Earth in Albania & Kosovo 2025 and adhere to a free license. Please note that Wikimedia Commons only accepts files released under a free license.
Rule 6: Photographs must be of high quality. Ensure your submissions are new to Wikimedia and include a proper title and description.
