Making Wiki Loves Folklore available in your language
Independent from if there is a local contest organised in your country, you can help by making the photo contest Wiki Loves Folklore more accessible and available to more people in the world by translating the upload wizard, templates and pages to your local language. See for an overview of templates/pages to translate at:
If you decide to hold Wiki Loves Folklore in your country or a more locale place, you need to complete the required steps:
- Have or create clear recommendations for photos. – Define what aspects photographers should focus on.
- Have a working organization team, and name the responsible contact, e.g. by a list of helping users.
- Create the landing page on Commons for your local event (
Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore/..), and translate the various templates and pages (see Commons:Wiki Loves Folklore 2021/Translations). The category for your country will be created and implemented by Benipal hardarshan.
- For onsite events, set up dashboard prior to the event.
In the upload wizard, participants will be asked to indicate the country of where the photo has been taken. hardarshan can provide you a special upload link for your country so participants do not have to add it.
