Wiki Loves Monuments is an event where everyone can participate by taking photos of listed monuments and uploading them for use on Wikipedia. All pictures will be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons under a free license in order to be available for any future usage. Wikimedia Commons is the online multimedia library, hosting, for example, all the illustration of all the Wikipedia in every language.
During September(1st - 30th), the contest will be opened for all to upload pictures of monuments taken within the contest duration or even ones already taken but not uploaded yet to commons. The pictures don't have to be taken in September, but only files that are uploaded in September count in this contest. At the end of the contest, a jury will select the best pictures to represent Ghana in the global competition. Amongst the best photos that will be uploaded in September 2016, there will be a selection of the top three (3) photos. The participants whose photos are selected among the top 3 will each receive a citation for participating, and the 1st picture will receive a token in addition to the citation.
Our second time of participating in WLM, we hope to upload as many photos as possible. Thank you for being a part! Be sure to check the list of monuments to focus on, here - Ghana's List of Monuments
All entries must be your own work. However images with watermarks are not permissible.
All photos must be uploaded within September 2016, to be eligible.
All photos must be licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.
Participants must have an active email account, if the organizers wish to contact.
