• Wikivoyage page banner competition as a separate WLM award in 2017, submissions from all countries are welcome

Russia

• Separate awards for different flavors of architecture:
  • 2016: industrial objects, building interiors
  • 2017: art nouveau architecture, Russian/Soviet avantgarde
• Separate award for "Cultural heritage imperiled" (heritage objects facing destruction or heedless renovation)
• Separate awards for best coverage of regions and individual heritage sites
