Tag prefix in tags' appearance

I would suggest to add "Tag: " prefix in tags' appearance. Sometimes I have been confused with normal edit summary so it need to distinguish with normal edit summary. Thanks. – Kwj2772 (msg) 01:31, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

AFAIK, Rocket has given the tags a specific formatting so that they can be separated from the usual summary. However, I wouldn't mind having this as a prefix like en.wikipedia. You probably just have to edit {{Tag description}} for that. --The Evil IP address (talk) 17:56, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
The text is already smaller and comes after the username, but if you think it needs something more to set it apart, I have no problem with adding "Tag: ". {{Tag description}} is for the full descriptions (as seen on Special:Tags), not the tags themselves. To add this prefix you'll have to edit each tag separately. You can also use css (.mw-tag markers *:before {content:"Tag: ";}) but you won't be able to use wikitext/html, so no link possible. Another option is to change the format of the tag instead of adding text, e.g. make them a different color. Rocket000 (talk) 20:44, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Heh, I just noticed you already did. The tag I was looking at didn't have it yet (but I added it). Rocket000 (talk) 20:58, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Wrong Description

I want to edit a picture of Daniel Fahrenheit, but the "Abuse filter" does not allow the change, that that's not James Watt... --Gorlingor (talk) 17:14, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Try not to click on the edit toolbar directly above the edit window. You mistakenly added the example image ([[File:Example.jpg]]) in there. --The Evil IP address (talk) 17:52, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

  • Pagina: File:金-red.png (histlogsabuse log)
  • Edit kind: Replacing the page with {{SOlicense|金||red.png|}} so it looks better
  • Reason abuse filter: This action has been automatically identified as harmful and has been disabled.
  • Comments: I was replacing the page with one line of code so the glitches would be gone. The automatic template screws up the uploads for the stroke order project. The template I was using is used on a lot of images that have to do the stroke order project. I don't know why the abuse filter blocked an edit that fixed the page. ThePCKid (talk) 15:30, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

The filter that caught your edit is meant to catch removals of the {{Information}} template. I've modified it so that it now recognizes {{SOlicense}} as a valid replacement. Thanks for the report. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 16:55, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

  • Reason abuse filter: "An automated filter has identified this edit as potentially unconstructive, and it has been disallowed. If this edit is constructive, please report this error. "
  • Comments: There are a number of problems here.
  • the abuse filter presents a somewhat abusive template to warn users off
  • the filter assumes bad faith, whereas it should always assume good faith. "please log in to..." or "to help us maintain quality standards, please fill out this captcha" rather than "we think you are being abusive. let us know if we are wrong".
  • the link to "report an error" for false positives doesn't work
  • the talk page of the page linked to above doesn't make it easy to report problems (this template currently being filled out is too specific for the problems I encountered) 18.85.46.235 22:09, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Further report

The template used by this page when submitting a new abuse request has a variable for "edit kind" and another for "reason given". both have the same description text -- related to reason, not to kind of edit. 18.85.46.235 22:10, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi 18.85.46.235
I've corrected the description text in the report-error template. The "Edit =" parameter is used to describe how or what you intended to do. I see in the log that the reason your edit triggered was "The Abuse filter has recognized your edit as controversial" and/or "The Abuse filter avoids editing other users' personal pages". For reference you can read the programmed message for this trigger here: MediaWiki:Abusefilter-warning-userpage. I doesn't asume bad faith, but it prevents/avoids you from making edits to pages that are not part of the content, of the media reposity, Wikimedia Commons. It is a user page and not a publicly editable article, gallery or category. Therefor it has been filtered. If you think a part of that user's personal page is incorrect in any way you may leave him a message on his Talk page or perhaps send him an email via the "E-mail this user" in the Toolbox in the left navigation.
If you have any ideas at all as to the formulation or clarity of this message we are open to suggestions ! –Krinkletalk 22:27, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
