I think this should probably be reopened and allowed to run the normal amount of time, unless there are good reasons why not. pfctdayelise (说什么?) 03:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

+ 1. May I quote from foundation-l (Erik Moeller, Deputy Director, WMF):

"To be clear: The Wikimedia Foundation was not involved in this decision, and we've consistently held that faithful reproductions of two-dimensional public domain works which are nothing more than reproductions should be considered public domain for licensing purposes." --Historiograf 03:25, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Me too. Per Commons:Deletion requests, "In general, requests can be closed after seven days. Deletion requests for obvious copyright violations can be closed earlier." This is certainly not an obvious decision, nor indeed does the very short discussion here show any clear consensus. -- Visviva 04:17, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reopened. In general, closing deletion debate too early has spread like a disease. Samulili 06:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
