The following sentence

Superseded images will not be deleted per discussion and consensus.

sounds strange : it sort of implies that although they are not deleted by consensus, they are speedy deleted (by dissensus). Teofilo (talk) 09:31, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

This template is still recommended in the guideline, but if you use it, you are warned that meanwhile it is depriciated.--Ulamm (talk) 18:27, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion for wrong redirct[edit]

What is the most efficient way to ask for a Speedy deletion for a wrong redirect? I created File:2011 - ALFA ROMEO Spider - ITALY - Porto Recanati 01.jpg because I gave by mistake #01 to the 4th picture of the batch whilst renaming them in a consistent way. I forgot that here on commons movers cannot erase redirects.

It is the first time after hundreds of rnames that happens and maybe it could happen again, so what is the fastest way to solve the problem and make the name string free again for my last rename? --Alexmar983 (talk) 05:51, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

@Alexmar983:: I do that quite often this way: open the redirect page - edit - add {{SD|REASON + Signature}} on it - save. REASON could be: "unusable, nonsensical redirect", "factually wrong filename" or something along these lines. Regards, Grand-Duc (talk) 07:12, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
