I could help translating e.g. the software-interface into german. Is still help needed here? abf /talk to me/ 11:31, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

Is a software update needed? If it's the same as for last year then only 2007->2008 replacements would be needed. /Lokal_Profil 18:40, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi, only one question: where can I put the sitenotice translation (in italian)? Is there a specific page or section where I can write it translated? Thanks, --sNappy 20:03, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Put any temporary translations in Commons:Picture of the Year/2008/Translations/it and change the link at Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2008/Translations#Italiano to point there instead. /Lokal_Profil 02:07, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

I volunteer to translate into Spanish. Should I just do it or what? Jake the Editor Man (talk) 20:17, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Site notice translations not appearing?[edit]

I read Sitenotice above, and I see an Italian translation exists in Commons:Picture of the Year/2008/Translations/it, but the link at Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2008/Translations#Italiano does not point to it. But is that the problem? I see only the English language site notice (Voting in our annual contest, Picture of the Year 2008 will begin shortly) in the following language interfaces:

(I did not check any other languages, I suspect they all show English)

What do we need to do to make this work for other languages? 84user (talk) 14:30, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Add link to language interface?[edit]

Should we add links to change the interface language to the same language as the gallery pages? For example, as a test I added

<div style="text-align:right;padding:1px 5px 1px 5px;" class="plainlinks"><span style="color:#888; font-size:x-small;">{{{text|[{{fullurl:{{FULLPAGENAMEE}}|uselang=fr}} interface en français]}}}</span></div> </div>

to the French page and a German version to the German page. This adds the links "interface en français" and "Deutsche Benutzeroberfläche", respectively. Should I do this for the other languages? 84user (talk) 15:01, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Do I have to sign somewhere if I want to translate into Latvian language? Geimeris (talk) 04:34, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

No. just do it. ...Aurora... (talk) 12:44, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
