Meta may be useful to help with a voting ystem. Thy have a lot of experience in it. Just my 2 cents --Patio (talk) 21:06, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

One vote only?[edit]

Pardon my ignorance, but you are allowed only one vote, right? --The High Fin Sperm Whale 00:50, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

No, in the first round you can vote as many times as you like. --99of9 (talk) 01:16, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Then in the finals you can only vote once? BTW, who nominates POTY contestants? --The High Fin Sperm Whale 01:54, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Yes. The contestants consist of every FP promoted during 2009. The finalists are based on the voting in round 1. You can see details here: Commons:Picture_of_the_Year/2009. --99of9 (talk) 02:04, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
And who picks pictures to be POTY contestants? --The High Fin Sperm Whale 02:06, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
I obviously don't understand your question. EVERY featured picture promoted during 2009 is listed in the galleries. These are all the contestants for POTY. If that does not answer your question, please can you clarify what you mean by contestants? 99of9 (talk) 02:11, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
All the candidates(contestants?) in Round 1 are the 2009 Commons:Featured pictures listed in Commons:Featured pictures/chronological/2009-A and Commons:Featured pictures/chronological/2009-B.--miya (talk) 11:43, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Very sorry for being so dumb, this is my first year that I participated in POTY! --The High Fin Sperm Whale 22:29, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi, is it intended that some pictures (at least File:Epitonium scalare shell.jpg) appear in several galleries? (Commons:Picture of the Year/2009/Galleries/Other animals/2 and Commons:Picture of the Year/2009/Galleries/Objects/1) --Eusebius (talk) 08:15, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your informing dupe. I'll check the galleries all over again.--miya (talk) 11:43, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
