Dur Sharrukin is an ancient city of Assyria, now Khorsabad in Iraq.
The ruins of king Sargon II's city and palace were excavated there in the 1840s by the French consul at Mossul, Pierre-Émile Botta. Reliefs from the palace can now be seen at the Louvre Museum and the British Museum.
Shedu[edit]
The shedu are Mesopotamian demons of a benevolent nature, depicted as human-headed winged bulls.
