Ellesmere Island
Ellesmere Island is located in Nunavut, Canada. The third largest island in Canada, it is home to the Quttinirpaaq National Park and forms part of the Arctic Cordillera.

Arctic pond, taken on a scientific expedition in 2006 at Cape Herschel on Ellesmere Island. Despite being filled with water for at least several thousand years, many of these ponds have desiccated since 1982, probably due to global warming.
