Summary[edit]
DescriptionInverness railway 2020645.jpg |
English: Inverness Railway Panorama. View NW from the main road above the east end of the Inverness Railway Yards and Station, over the firth to Ord Hill - there was no Kessock Bridge in 1948. The passenger train, headed by a Stanier Class 5 4-6-0, has just arrived from the Far North Line. As was the practice, it has run over the triangle past the Terminus and is about to reverse into a platform. It was typical Scottish weather and unfortunately a cloud darkens the middle distance, but the Station can be distinguished on the left. Note the large gantry of signals on the right. [This was one of my earlier photographs and is of indifferent quality, but is offered for its interest]. |
