Notes Sur le cartel, on lit : « Portrait du Dr du C. venant de sauver un malade. La mort, surprise, s'avoue vaincue. Elle vient d'être faite échec et mat. Peint à Nantes par Remi-Farcy Descarsin qui fut décapité en 1793. (La [illisible] du Dr n'était pas terminée.) Sur le mur, un tableau complète cette fine allégorie. Jupiter, à la demande de Pluton, est prêt à foudroyer Esculape pour avoir rendu la vie à Hippolyte. »
