فارسی: علی بن موسی الرضا (۱۴۸–۲۰۳ ه. ق)، ملقب به رضا و ابوالحسن هشتمین امام شیعیان دوازده امامی بعد از پدرش موسی کاظم و قبل از پسرش محمد تقی می‌باشد. علی بن موسی در شهر مدینه از نجمه خاتون متولد و در دیار توس از دنیا رفت. رضا در دوره‌ای زیست می‌کرد که خلفای عباسی با مشکلات عمده‌ای از جمله شورشهای شیعیان مواجه بودند.
English: ‘Alī ibn Mūsā ar-Riḍā also called Abu al-Hasan, Ali al-Reza or in Persia (Iran) as Imam Reza was a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad and the eighth Shi'ite Imam, after his father Musa al-Kadhim, and before his son Muhammad al-Jawad.
العربية: أبو الحسن علي بن موسى الرضا (وُلد في المدينة المنورة في 11 ذي القعدة 148 هـ وتُوفِّي في طوس في صفر 203 هـ) هو ثامن الأئمة الاثنا عشر. لقب بغريب الغرباء كونه دفن في بلاد فارس بعيدًا عن أرض أبائه العرب.
