| Description | DB Class 112 (ex-DR Class 212) LEW 15k v ac overhead 5,390 hp Bo-Bo No.112 189 entering Berlin Hbf on a push-pull service, 09/12. Developed from a prototype built in 1982, 190 were built 1990-91 as the East German express passenger version of the Class 243 (DB Class 143) and were very successful. After unification DB have used them (with the Class 143's) on push-pull local and DB Regio regional passenger services. But they are now themselves being displaced by younger DB classes as more ICE trains come on stream. | |||||||||||||
