Description |
English: Incomplete and broken Post-Medieval lead alloy (pewter) spoon. The spoon has a flattened oval bowl. There is a raised ridge running along underside of D-sectioned possibly reinforced handle (which is bent to one side), the end of handle is broken off, but it appears to have expanded towards the terminal.
Approx length (including broken tip) 170mm, width of bowl 55mm, thickness of bowl 1.8mm, thickness of handle c.5mm, with of handle7-9mm, weight 42.18g & 5.09g, TOTAL 47.27g. Pewter spoons of this type are typically dated between c.1500-1750. |
