Summary[edit]

Description

Inyo Forest Service mules with intern from the pack stock COE (Center of Excellence) along with the lead Forest Service Packer were used as part of the electroshocking team to consolidate PCT at an overnight location on North Fork Cottonwood Creek. The following day at dawn PCT would be removed from the creek to fish cans then to 10 mules and packed out to the CDFW fish truck. Here they get transferred to a single aerated tank and driven six hour for yet again another transfer on mules provided by Little Antelope Pack Station. (Forest Service photos Michael Morse, Wilderness, Trails Supervisor and R5 Pack Stock Coordinator, Inyo National Forest, Mammoth Ranger District)

Restore Paiute cutthroat trout (PCT) population to Upper Fish Valley, Silver King Creek. This population of PCT declined dramatically during the 2013 through 2015 drought. Upper Fish Valley can then again serve as one of the source populations for restocking the PCT restoration area. Take trout from INF - North Fork Cottonwood Creek (NFCC), Granite Meadows, White Mountain Wilderness

Augment trout population on HTNF - Upper Fish Valley, Silver King Creek (SKC), Carson-Iceberg Wilderness
