Maserati Tipo 26 at Tripoli GP in 1928

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Maserati Tipo 26 at Tripoli GP on Saturday 11 March 1928, where entry #34 was driven by Pietro Brunori of Roma, he did not finish the 419,2 km long race.[1]
One historian[2] claims Maserati made two that debuted in this race, the other for Carlo Tonini. These cars had a larger tank, because of the rather long race (however: Tonini did not participate in this race, so something is wrong; Guiseppe Vittoria did participate, though, so maybe that was "the other one").
Snellman claims this car had a 1,5 litre engine, and so should be a regular Tipo 26 (not Tipo 26 B). He also claims that Brunori had to stop and quit the race after 12 rounds, as he had exceeded the time limit, partially as he had to stop several times to replace the spark plugs. [3]
