Summary[edit]

Description

This small four wheel drive vehicle was built in Austria between 1959 and 1974, named after an Austrian workhorse known for its climbing power and surefootedness, it was built for the Austrian army. Available in 2 wheel drive, the 700LP and 4 wheel drive 700AP on a 59 inch wheelbase. A longer 71 inch wheelbase version, the 703AP was available from 1962. Other militaries also bought the Haflinger too, including Australia.

Engine; two-cylinder, horizontally opposed, air-cooled unit, taken from the Puch 500 compact car, which used a 500cc version, enlarged to 643cc for the Haflinger
