Deutsch: 23.04.1972 DDR 4300 [06484] Quedlinburg: Pölkenstraße mit Blick zur St. Nikolaikirche (GMP: 51.789586,11.149491). Sie ist die Pfarrkirche der Neustadt in Quedlinburg. Erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde sie im Jahr 1222. Sie ist damit die älteste Kirche des Bezirks Neustadt. Das Gebäude soll auf Pfählen in sumpfigem Gelände errichtet worden sein. Ursprünglich war es eine dreischiffige romanische Basilika. In ihrer jetzigen Gestalt ist sie im Westbau frühgotisch, während die übrigen Teile spätgotisch sind. Der Anbau des Chorraums kam im 13. hinzu, weitere Anbauten folgten im 15. Jahrhundert. Der Ort Quedlinburg wurde 922 als 'villa Quitlingaburg' urkundlich genannt. 994 Verleihung des Marktrechts durch Kaiser Otto III. Gegen Mitte des 12. Jahrhundert Gründung der Altstadt.
