Summary[edit]

Description
English: Engine in a 1972 AMC Javelin AMX that has been customized and tubbed to accommodate big fat rear tires to be installed without them protruding beyond the outside of the rear quarter panels. The original rear wheel wells have been cut out and and replaced with wheel tubs, that look like a lidless, bottomless 55-gallon barrel cut in half, and the car's rear seat is lost in the process. Moreover, this car has been fitted with a narrow rear end with custom axles and gears. All of these modifications helps power from AMC's high performance engine to get to the pavement. The AMC V8 has twin four-barrel carburetors. This is a carefully finished street custom that looks like a "sleeper" drag racing car. Picture taken at the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention that was held July 2015 near Cleveland, Ohio.
