Description
Deutsch: 21.09.1987 DDR 2850 [19370] Parchim: Evangelische Pfarrkirche St. Georgen (GMP: 53.427761,11.847252). Dreischiffige gotische Hallenkirche. Erbaut ab 1289 auf älterer Grundlage. Vermutlich 1307 geweiht. Später wurde sie mehrfach umgebaut und erweitert. Sie ist ein dreischiffiger und neunjochiger gotischer Backsteinbau auf einem Feldsteinsockel mit einem Westturm. Blick zum Altar. Rechts am Pfeiler die Schnitzkanzel. Sie wurde im Jahr 1580 vollendet und enthält viele biblische Szenen; das Leben Jesu sowie den Stifter der Kanzel und seine Frau Telse, Witwe des Lübecker Ratsherrn Karsten Timmermann.
