Description

Deutsch: 20.05.2002 09648 Kriebstein: Burg Kriebstein (GMP: 51.042428,13.017510). Die schönste Ritterburg Sachsens. 1384 erhielt Ritter Dietrich von Beerwalde die Genehmigung, "den Krywensteyen czu buwen". Höhepunkte sind der 1384 errichtete monumentale Wohnturm, die Burgkapelle mit Wandmalereien von 1410, das Kriebsteinzimmer sowie die Interieurräume der Familie von Arnim. Das mit Turmspitzen übersäte Dach wurde 1399 aufgerichtet. Spätestens 1407 war die Burg vollendet. 1465 gelangte die Burg an den kursächsischen Obermarschall Hugold von Schleinitz, der in Kriebstein umfangreiche Bauarbeiten durchführen ließ. Die Eigentümer wechselten oft. Die letzten Rittergutsbesitzer waren Erik (1873-1945) und Allard von Arnim (1901-1945). In der Burg wurde nach der Bodenreform das Museum des Kreises Hainichen eingerichtet. 1993 ging die Burganlage in den Besitz des Freistaates Sachsen über. Sicht aus dem Tal der Zschopau.
