Summary[edit]

Description
Nederlands: In Winsum woonden in het begin van de Tweede Wereldoorlog 14 joden. Roosje de Vries, een zuster van Essie en Comprecht, overleed in Winsum in december 1941. De andere joden, waaronder een grootmoeder van 84 en vier kinderen, zijn via Westerbork naar Auschwitz afgevoerd en omgebracht. Op de oostkant van de voormalige synagoge zijn twee ‘blinde’ ramen aangebracht. Op het linkerraam staan de namen en leeftijden van de omgebrachte mensen. In 2011 werd de synagoge gerestaureerd.
