Notes
  • Significance: Part of the South Main Street Residential Historic District. The district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in September 6, 1989 as part of the Downtown Statesboro Multiple Property Nomination. This house is in a district which reflects the continued popularity of late 19th century house forms, as well as the increasing popularity of the bungalow. The district is also typical of residential neighborhood dating from the 1910's to the 1920's, comprised mainly of single-story bungaloid structures constructed in an area with a gridiron street pattern. Houses in the district are arranged on lots perpendicular to the street and vary in setback. The closely spaced residences are freestanding and similar in style and overall character. The house lots vary in width from 60 to 75 feet with small front yards separated from the street by sidewalks.
