Summary[edit]

Description
English: 481 Beverley Road, Hull Originally called Endsleigh House, 481 Beverley Road was a convent belonging to the Sisters of Mercy who moved here in 1901 after their numbers outgrew properties they had previously held in Wilton Street and then Anlaby Road. More land was purchased and further wings built to accommodate a growing college which was founded here in 1905, with over 700 students attending Endsleigh by 1966. In 1974, Endsleigh was merged with five other Humberside colleges and most of the buildings were sold. The house was renamed Dove House (as part of the Humberside Hospice Project) then Wyke House (as part of Humberside Polytechnic). Since then it has been renamed yet again as Dawson House and converted into flats.
