Description

55 (left) and 53 (right) Crosby Street between Spring and Broome Streets in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan.

    1. 55 - built 1905-06, Beaux-Arts style, designed by the New York Edison Company, a precursor to Consoliated Edison, which owned the builing until 1971, when it was converted to lofts. The building was occupied by galleries and studios, including that of Frank Gehry.
    2. 53 - built 1889-90, Queen Anne style, designed by Horgan & Slattery. Converted to coop apartments in 1980.
