Notes
  • Significance: This two-story frame "saltbox" duplex was built ca. 1895 as operative housing for Dixie Mill. A one room addition by the front porch was made prior to 1921, and the rear shed for bathrooms was added between 1921 and 1930. By 1938, the house had been converted for single family use. In the 1950s it again served as a duplex. No single long-term tenant was identified; occupants were loom fixers, a clerk, a second hand, and a weaver. Dixie Mill sold the house between 1956 and 1958 to Fred E. Hall, formerly a loom fixer who became manager of Hall's Service Station.
