Description
English: A Soviet Tupolev Tu-95 Bear D aircraft being intercepted by a U.S. Navy Vought A-7E Corsair II aircraft from attack squadron VA-146 Blue Diamonds. VA-146 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing Two (CVW-2) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) up to 1984. It stayed on the Kitty Hawk until 1987, but being assigned to CVW-9 (tail code "NG"). Therefore the date given (1 October 1985) is incorrect.
