Auf Antrag vom 23.01.2001 hat die Bgld. Landesregierung mit Beschluss vom 27. März 2001 der Gemeinde Königsdorf das Recht zur Führung des Gemeindewappens verliehen.

Object history Das Hauptmotiv, die Figur des Heiligen Königs Stephan wurde deshalb ausgewählt, weil es bereits im Königsdorfer Gemeindesiegel verwendet wird. Einer Sage nach soll Kaiser Josef II. einmal durch diese Gegend gekommen sein. Bei der Überquerung des Limbaches im Bereich der alten Königsbrücke, die heute nicht mehr besteht, soll er mit seinem Wagen stecken geblieben sein. Die Bewohner Königsdorf sind sofort herbeigeeilt und haben geholfen. Als Dank dafür sei der Gemeinde die Erlaubnis erteilt worden, in ihrem Gemeindesiegel das Bild des Heiligen Königs Stephan von Ungarn zu führen.
