Description
Français : Révolution Française. Histoire. A un peuple libre. Le peuple (femmes, enfants..) accalame le buste de Louis XVI érigé sur un piédestal, le bas-relief à l'effigie de Bailly et le général de Lafayette porté par les soldats; allégorie de la Renommée, trompette, étendard inscrit "l'An 1er / de la / Révolution"; la prison de la Bastille en démolition, drapeaux, colonnes, couronne de lauriers. Référence à l'arrivée de Louis XVI à l'Hôtel de Ville de Paris, qui reçoit la nouvelle "Cocarde nationale" du nouveau maire de Paris, l'astronome Bailly. A cette occasion, le roi approuve publiquement la formation de la garde bourgeoise et les nominations de Bailly à la mairie, de Lafayette à la tête de la garde.
