Interno dello scheletro di Balenottera comune esposta nella corte interna dell’Accademia dei Fisiocritici.

La Balenottera si era spiaggiata nella costa toscana nel 1974. Il suo scheletro, recuperato dal Museo di Storia Naturale dell’Accademia dei Fisiocritici, è esposto nella corte dal 1986. Dal 2020 si chiama Nereo, in seguito a un sondaggio-concorso effettuato tra i visitatori.

Insight of the common fin whale skeleton exposed in the court yard of the Accademia dei Fisiocritici.

The specimen stranded on the Tuscan coast in 1974 and its skeleton was recovered by the Museum of Natural History of the Accademia dei Fisiocritici. It has been on display in the courtyard since 1986. In 2020 it has been called Nereo, following a vote to choose a name from the visitors’ suggestions.
This is a photo of a monument which is part of cultural heritage of Italy. This monument participates in the contest Wiki Loves Monuments Italia 2021. See authorisations.
