| Description |
English: Former station at Ampleforth, 1993. The ex-NER branch from the York - Newcastle main line at Sessay Wood Junction (south of Pilmoor) - to the right - to Gilling, Pickering and Malton - to the left, crossed the road here. The station was closed from 5/6/50, but the line survived - in part for through trains to Scarborough etc. - until 2/2/53. Evidently the owner was still bothered by potential passengers 40 years later! |
