Securing a blind horse and a cart hebegan a journey to Yakima, a distance of eighthundred miles. Having decided that this wasnot the country he desired, he drove the samefaithful beast to Okanogan county, in 1887.He immediately located a fine stock ranch nearwhere Loomis now stands, andfrom that timeuntil 1903, gave his time to improving hisranch and raising stock. He then sold hisranch and stock and removed to Loomis wherehe has a comfortable home and is passing thegolden age of his life in well earned retirement,supplied with a good competence and amid alarge circle of friends.
