The archetype vertebrata, (latin, ver-VERTEBRATA.—tere, to turn,) includes animalspossessing a vertebral column. An example is man.ARTICULATA.—Animals formed of segments arecalled articulata, (latin, articulus^ a joint.) An ex-MOLLUSCA.—ample is the lobster.
