Description These houses are separated by large stone columns. Up above, you can see arches. This is because the houses were built between the legs of the aqueduct! This street is inside the ancient walled city of Evora and near the terminal point of the aqueduct which is why the arches are not as high as the are in the portion of the aqueduct that stretches out across the surrounding plains.
