Not completely clear. Many refers to the "Logica Nova" publication of 1512, even if it's not clear who's the author and is not possible to find such book in any historical library. An higher quality image is available through image banks [1] [2] even if it's not clear, again, the source. The image appears on some scientific publications in which the source is described as "*Alonso de Proaza’s illustration of Llull’s description of a natural and logical, Porphyriantree in his work De logica nova, published in the Valéncia edition*" [3] [4]. It could have been extracted from microfiches, even if it's not possible to find them online [5]. In "the art of Ramon Llull", image 18 [6], the captions reads: "Tree diagram from R. Lull, De Nova Logica, Valencia, 1512, p.159". Describing the source, the author says: "De nova logica,Valencia, 1512 (published in a small volume containing three works, one of which is the first edition of the De ascensuet descensuintellectus). This De nova logica is not the same work as the logic published in the Zetzner edition and which contains the diagram of the "Square of Opposition.". |
