Summary[edit]

Description
English: Female silver argiope (below-left), with a kleptoparasitic or commensal dewdrop spider (above-right, also with silver abdomen) living in its web. This web was at head height in a guava tree, and had no stabilimenta. There is also a dead spiderling or shed exoskeleton (species unknown) in the web just above and to the right of the argiope. Photo taken in Orange County, California, with a Canon PowerShot SX200 IS. Flash fired with -2 EV adjustment. The shot was taken with the camera as perpendicular to the line between the Argiope argentata and the Argyrodes sp. as possible, to get a non-distorted size comparison and keep them both in focus. This is the original uncropped photo. A version cropped to make it easier to see the spiders when displayed in thumbnail format is also available.
