Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Armed Forces Memorial within the National Memorial Arboretum at Arelwas, Staffordshire.

The National Memorial Arboretum, supported by The Royal British Legion, honours the fallen, recognises sacrifice and fosters pride in the country. It is rapidly becoming a world-class centre for remembrance. The Armed Forces Memorial was dedicated in the pressence of HM The Queen in October 2007. It is designed to provide fitting recognition for British servicemen and women who have been killed on duty since the end of second World War.

The memorial also recognises and acknowledges through sculpture the courage of family and friends left behind. It is hoped it wil play a valuable role in supporting the bereaved as they manage their loss through different stages in their lives.
