Description
English: The interior of Arriva Guildford & West Surrey 1508 (reg. YN03 NDF), a 2003 Optare Solo M920 midibus, at Kingfield Green, Kingfield, Woking, Surrey, waiting for the departure time of route 234. Route 234 was a special free service, running from Kingfield Green to Woking via Westfield and Mayford, starting on 9 February 2011 and running for roughly six months, while Elm Bridge on Kingfield Road was closed for a new bridge to be built. Other bus routes (services 34, 462/463, 562 and various school services) had to divert due to the closure and the 234 provided a service to those places buses had been diverted away from. For much of the route, it was combined with route 562 to provide a more regular frequency. Route 562 was also free over this section during the period. This bus arrived at Guildford depot in October 2010, from fellow Arriva-company MK Metro/Arriva The Shires, and was new to Weavaway, which is presumably why it unusually is fitted with seat belts. It was unusual also for a Solo to be on route 234, this only happening a couple of times during the route's time of operation.
